Q(n) species distribution in K2O.2SiO2 glass by 29Si magic angle flipping NMR.
Two-dimensional magic angle flipping (MAF) was employed to measure the Q((n)) distribution in a (29)Si-enriched potassium disilicate glass (K(2)O.2SiO(2)). Relative concentrations of [Q((4))] = 7.2 +/- 0.3%, [Q((3))] = 82.9 +/- 0.1%, and [Q((2))] = 9.8 +/- 0.6% were obtained. Using the thermodynamic model for Q((n)) species disproportionation, these relative concentrations yield an equilibrium ...

Two-dimensional magic angle flipping (MAF) was employed to measure the Q(n) distribution in a 29Si enriched potassium disilicate glass (K2O · 2 SiO2). Relative concentrations of [Q(4)] = 7.2% ± 0.3%, [Q(3)] = 82.9% ± 0.1%, [Q(2)] = 9.8%± 0.6% were obtained. Using the thermodynamic model for Q(n) species disproportionation these relative concentrations yield an equilibrium constant k3 = 0.0103± ...
متن کاملMagic Angle Spinning NMR Metabolomics.
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a nondestructive, quantitative, reproducible, untargeted and unbiased method that requires no or minimal sample preparation, and is one of the leading analytical tools for metabolomics research [1-3]. The easy quantification and the no need of prior knowledge about compounds present in a sample associated with NMR are advantageous over other tech...
متن کاملAnionic Species Determination in CaSiO3 Glass Using Two-Dimensional 29Si NMR
The structure of the alkaline earth silicate glass CaSiO3 has been investigated using a two-dimensional 29Si NMR experiment that correlates the isotropic magic-angle-spinning (MAS) spectrum with an anisotropic off-magic-angle-spinning spectrum. Although the one-dimensional magic-angle-spinning (MAS) spectrum is completely unresolved, all five types of SiO4 tetrahedra (represented by the notatio...
متن کاملEnvironmental NMR: High-resolution Magic-angle Spinning
Environmentally significant materials including soils, plant tissues, melanin pigments, and urban surface films possess swollen or swellable constituents that are not studied ideally using either solutionor solid-state NMR. Beginning in the 1970s and accelerating during the past 15 years, high-resolution (HR)-MAS techniques have been developed to study these challenging materials, yielding unpr...
